Curriculum Overview
The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University prepares medical students to work in the health systems of tomorrow to advance health by integrating basic sciences and clinical skills, providing early immersion in patient care experiences, and incorporating health systems science as the third pillar of medical education. As part of our mission, many of these early experiences are in rural and underserved communities in Eastern NC. Throughout the curriculum, Brody students contribute to improving health for our communities. The redesigned curriculum reflects the ever-changing practice of medicine, meets the desire for early career exploration, and incorporates effective learning strategies for today’s medical students.
