Terms of Service

We require first-time users of the facilities to schedule a brief consultation with the facilities director and staff to discuss terms of services, expectations of the user, needs of the project, research goals, and timelines for project completion.   

We reserve the right to refuse to process samples due to improper sample preparation, composition, or other sample issues that may compromise the integrity of the instruments. 

BSOM’s Mass Spectrometry Core Facilities is a fee for service center. Approved service fees can be found here. Submission of samples to the facilities for analysis indicates an agreement to paying the fees associated with the project as discussed with the facilities director/staff or as supplied to in a quote.  

We approach all projects submitted to the facilities as a collaborative research endeavor; however, decisions of intellectual merit, allocation of credit and determination of authorship on manuscripts containing data generated in BSOM’s Mass Spectrometry Core facilities is at the sole discretion of the manuscript’s corresponding author. Regardless, we please ask that you acknowledge BSOM’s Mass Spectrometry Core Facilities in your manuscripts in the following way: 

“This project was supported by the Brody School of Medicine at ECU’s Mass Spectrometry Core which has received support from the Golden Leaf Foundation and from federal COVID-19 relief funds appropriated to ECU in North Carolina SL 2020-4. We thank Dr. T N. Zeczycki for technical support.”
