Our office was established to encourage and support the education and development of primary care physicians in Eastern North Carolina. Our primary focus is to deliver excellent primary care education, service and outreach to the underserved communities and regions. The program was established at a time of declining interest in primary care and has focused on fostering interest in primary care for students, residents, practitioners and rural practices.

We are committed to fostering student interest in primary care medicine; developing a community-responsive physician workforce; and increasing the number of medical students entering primary care careers.
