Where an expectant or new mother lives should not negatively impact her physical or mental well being or that of her child. The MOTHeRS project utilized the telehealth and NC-STeP framework to expand the access of specialty care to mothers and develop a new high-risk obstetric care model for eastern NC. Three community-based obstetrics practices were chosen to assist in the expansion of NC-STeP to renew a patient-centered approach to pre- and postnatal care in the area.
