Teaching Academy of Medical Educators (TEAME)
In 2025, the OFALD in collaboration with OME, initiated the Teaching Academy of Medical Educators to institute a foundational curriculum integration update as well as begin a learning communities initiative.
In order to effectively educate our medical learners, content around best practices in evidenced-based teaching and learning needs has been made accessible to the faculty who engage educationally with our learners.
This teaching academy covers research and skills to improve the learning environment and the delivery of education to our BSOM students. TEAME provides mentees workshop programming on career development and research topics from September through June.
Following programming participants will be able to:
- Apply adult learning principles to medical education
- Design and deliver learner-centered instructional sessions
- Develop assessments aligned with learning objectives
- Provide effective feedback and manage challenging learning situations
- Create welcoming learning environments
- Use educational technology to enhance instruction
- Engage in educational scholarship
TEAME participants are required to complete a culminating portfolio as part of their participation in the program.

- CME/Contact hour credit will be available through EAHEC.
- All sessions will be held in person in Brody 1S-04.
- All sessions will take place from 12:15 – 3:00 p.m. *Final session 12:15 – 3:30
