Osprey Simulator

The MV-22 Osprey Task Trainer is a collaborative project between ECUs, Office of Innovation and Economic Development and Brody School of Medicine’s Office of Clinical Simulation supporting the readiness training of enroute care teams (nurses and corpsmen) from the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. Our Osprey Transport Simulator allows groups to practice in a life-like environment modeled after an MV-22 Osprey which can also be retrofitted to be an EC145. We have full surround sound, flight suits, comms units, multiple manikins, recording capability and several staging areas for transition of care pre-transport.

The development of the Osprey Task Trainer was accomplished by a grant from the University of North Carolina System Strategic Initiatives Fund and was constructed by multidisciplinary students from many of ECU’s Colleges and schools. It is envisioned that the Osprey Task Trainer will not only serve to train U.S. Navy Corpsmen and Nurses but also be a platform to research and develop future cutting edge training modalities for the Department of Defense.
