About
The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is a half-century-old medical school with a strong primary care orientation. We consistently rank among the top medical schools in the country for graduating doctors specializing in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and OB-GYN.
Our school was established in 1974 by the North Carolina legislature, and our mission is this:
- To increase the supply of primary care physicians to serve the state
- To improve the health and well-being of the region
- To train physicians who will meet the health care needs of the state
